Where is Jesus, in Hosea? – Rev. Dr. Frank Balgeman #Jesus #God #love

The Sunday Morning Vlog

Religion draws lines. Sacred here, profane there. Clean versus unclean. Righteous versus sinners. Then God shows up—and refuses to stay on the correct side. Hosea 11:1: “Out of Egypt I called my son.” Matthew says that’s Jesus. But verse two? That son immediately runs off to worship Baals and burn incense to idols. Wait—is Matthew saying Jesus worshipped false gods? Here’s where it gets wild. If Jesus is all humanity compressed into one body, then humanity’s rebellion lives in him too. Not because he sinned—but because he became our sin. And that sacrifice to Baals? Look at Golgotha. The cross is humanity murdering its Creator. The ultimate idol—human pride, human power—demanding the ultimate sacrifice. Everything detestable about Baal worship reaches its peak at the Place of the Skull. And simultaneously? It’s God’s greatest act of love. The worst thing we ever did. The best thing that ever happened to us. Same moment. Same cross. The traditional reading wasn’t wrong. It just wasn’t complete yet. For the full breakdown of this find my long version on YouTube.
