When You Can’t Feel God’s Presence
In your darkest moments, when God feels most absent, you’re actually closest to the heart of divine mystery. Even Jesus on the cross cried out, “My God, what have you done to me?”
Here’s the beautiful truth: your confusion and doubt aren’t signs of spiritual failure—they’re honest confessions that actually protect you from pretending you have it all figured out. You don’t need to manufacture artificial joy or fake understanding.
The peace Paul promises “transcends all understanding” precisely because it comes from beyond what makes sense to us. You’re not meant to comprehend it—you’re meant to receive it. When you can’t show grace, when you can’t handle the weight you’re carrying, that’s exactly when Christ steps in.
Tonight, stop trying to be strong enough. Your inability is the doorway to His sufficiency. Turn your eyes toward the One who carries what you cannot. Safety isn’t found in having answers—it’s found in the man on the cross who bears everything for you.
